Following Bharti Airtel, India’s largest telecom company, Reliance Jio, has launched VoWi-Fi, which provides free Wi-Fi voice and video calls.

“The launch of Jio Wi-Fi calling will further enhance the voice calling expertise of every Jio consumer, which already represents a benchmark for the industry with the first-ever VoLTE network in India,” stated Akash Ambani, Jio’s director.

Device’s Which Support Reliance Jio Wi-Fi Calling

The service has been launched nationally, according to Reliance. Nevertheless, it is essential to know that only a handful of devices support Wi-Fi. The Wi-Fi call option could be found in different Android device settings from various manufacturers. For example, Redmi K20 users can activate Wi-Fi calling by going to Settings > SIM Cards and Mobile Networks > Tap on the SIM > Enable Make Calls using WLAN.

Apple Users

  1. Go to iPhone settings.
  2. Scroll down and tap on Phone.
  3. Tap on Wi-Fi calling.
  4. Enable Wi-Fi calling on this iPhone.

All iPhone 6 and above Apple devices support free Wi-Fi, including iPhone SE.

While there are no additional charges for WiFi calls, including on roaming, note that international calls are paid according to the rate mentioned.
